This Makes Me Smile

There are some stories which make me smile and none more of the reported third place Elvis took in his own look-a-like competition and Dolly Parton being beaten into 2nd place in hers by a drag queen.
Charlie Chaplain apparently was also beaten in a similar contest by two people who were apparently more like Chaplain than himself and you would think that the guy who voices Elmo on the Muppet Show would pretty much be the automatic winner of any Elmo impression competition but he failed to convince a bunch of judges at an event with one saying that even he could do a more convincing Elmo impersonation.
These came to mind while reading about Violin virtuoso Joshua Bell, him with the £3.5 million Stradivarius violin and is generally accepted as the best violinist in the World and known for playing complex masterpieces on his expensive instrument.
The story was that days after selling out a concert in Washington at hundreds of pounds a seat, he performed a free mini-concert at a subway station for 45 minutes, performing six classical pieces in all.
Assuming he was a busker, he raised $32 from passer-by's, brilliant.

  1. no other blogs seem to have the problem with not permitting comments... how strange... and so often it is on one of your less intelligent opinions...

  2. Maybe other blogs haven't seen you removed previously for hate speech. You are obviously on their radar. Google is watching you..how's that make you feel?

  3. i was removed? when?

where did you get this fake news... this just substantiates your duplicity...

what the f*** are you talking about?

  4. Selective memory? Blogger deleted your comments and you said it was due to you doing something on your other blog and ‘accidentally’ deleting them? Need me to find the comments and email from blogger to jog your memory or you going to just flat out lie and deny it???

  5. ahhhhh, you use clumsy language. not blogs. none of my blogs have been removed. you mean posts and or comments. that is possible, especially if the google monitors are thin skinned leftists who look for ways to be offended for themselves or others.

i don't remember it happening however. forgive me for not remembering all the blog drama history which goes back with you to circa 2005.

i never accidentally deleted any comments. i intentionally deleted many comments because some of my co-workers discovered my blog and my employer had zero tolerance for any and all "political" comments or "internal" information posted on social media (a formal policy for people in management, which was removed a few years later, but my comments were gone at that point).

there is an entire generation in the US (now ages 25 to 40) that walk around looking for a way to be offended - while they feel quite comfortable telling people they are offended and attempt to impose their thin skin on people older than them - i've had little shits that haven't even paid income tax yet try to lecture me about numerous topics. to which i reply, "you have the right to be stupid, now get away from me."

example, the people i note above are now going thru the "common" names of birds (ebird or audubon lists) looking for birds named after people, for instance "Lincoln's Sparrow". then they attempt to research the person. if they find anything about the person they dislike (and it can be mere association with others) they protest to have the bird renamed - mind you, we have had statues of Lincoln defaced and toppled in the US because people under 40 here have been taught the bad about the US without being taught the good (like Lincoln led the effort to end slavery).

on a more personal note, i was once at a diversity event at my employer. i was supporting diversity (not like i had a choice, but it is actually my preference that your race, age, sex, gender, nationality, religion, and all other sensitivities people can come up with should not be a factor - only your ability to contribute more than you cost). a gay man at the event asked me, "do you support same sex marriage". it was rude (and an inappropriate political question at the time - no politics at work), but i answered, "i support equal rights, but not same sex marriage". he went ballistic and with a raised voice essentially said, "there is no place for you in this company." mind you, i'd been there for 35 years and he'd been there 2 or 3 years. regardless, he tried to make a scene, luckily a friend (black, female, executive) that was there with me set the record straight and he quickly shut up. she basically said, "people disagreeing with you doesn't make them a bigot. it is when they hold their views against you that it is bigotry" (something the left has seemingly lost touch with).

but if you can find the comments deleted i'd love to seem them.

  7. one comment you write indicates i was forced off of blogger, but i wasn't...

then you write that a comment was deleted by blogger, and it wasn't...

just because you imagined something doesn't mean it happened.

and this is how it is with you.

you weave your own stories, then act like they are beyond disputation. a great journalist perhaps, not a great teller of truth.

  8. Why do you do this to yourself? It shows that you claim you ‘deleted’ them yourself while deleting your information so makes a mockery of ‘never accidentally deleting’ your comments. This is what you do, flat out deny. When I am on the computer I will paste in the email from blogger stating comments have been removed due to breaking their hate speech rules. You didn’t even have the sense to let it go, self sabotage or what??

  9. i gave you the facts as i remember them. disputation of my views means little coming from someone that abuses facts and events to the extreme degree as you.

and, as i noted, i deleted a lot comments "purposely" - not by "accident". are you a moron?

i also told you my motive. any other suggestion of motive is unfounded speculation.

1.) even if google deleted ONE comment, when you consider that i have posted thousands of comments on your blog alone, that would not be much of a condemnation...

2.) 6 or 7 years ago, it was revealed that the major social media companies (including google) had comment monitors that leaned left and were suppressing comments that conflicted with their political views. google, twitter, and other social media companies faced internal mutiny when management attempted to bring the monitors back to a neutral state.

3.) leftists, including leftist comment monitors, "wear their hearts on their sleeves", so having a comment deleted doesn't mean much. for example, about 6 weeks ago, the NYT social media editors blocked one of my comments from being posted:
    > my comment: "... that is simply stupid...".
    > it seems calling an idea "stupid" is not permitted...
    > they suggested i find a different word than "stupid", which is stupid...
    > meanwhile, in the same comment stream they allowed people to post comments comparing leaders they dislike to nazi...
    > which is not surprising considering NYT history and how they reported (ignored) the holocaust in the 1940's...

    ReplyDelete
  10. disagreeing with a leftist doesn't make a person a homophobe, sexist, racist, xenophobe. since leftists ignore human nature, facts, and history they are forced to launch personal attacks to impugn people that disagree.

also, leftists are seemingly "polar" and lack the concept of "spectrum". there is no "in between" for leftists. you either agree with them 100%, on all topics, or you are considered evil.
    > don't think a man can have a baby - sexist, homophobe
    > don't think a male that transitions to female has a sports advantage against people born female - sexist, homophobe
    > defend police - racist
    > defend controlling immigration - racist
    > call a public event involving the destruction of property and looting a "riot" instead of a "protest" - racist, nazi, fascist
    > question a scientist - religious fanatic
    > question a leftist journalist - racist, sexist, homophobe, xenophobe, nazi, fascist...
    > and on and on it goes
