See The Funny, Snarling Clowns

As luck would have i wasn't here for the extreme right wing march in London yesterday where thousands of fascists descended on Parliament Square to the relief of shop owners everywhere as the national shoplifting rate dropped for a day.
Stephen Yaxley-Lennon who organised the event put the turnout at 150,000 but the Police said 50,000 (and who would you believe, the police or someone who has been sentenced five times for assault, threats, harassment and fraud as well as contempt of court) which is still 50,000 too many but with that many people chanting all sorts of racist nonsense, it took the combined IQ of the crowd to 50,000 as each right wing extremist has the IQ of a wooden bench, the cleverer ones anyway.
Luckily, 50,000 morons out of a population of 70 million is a small number but the concern is that most of these are of legal voting age and we all know where they will be scratching their X, next to Nigel Farage who is the new face of racism in the country and who leads Reform who are currently leading the polls for the next Prime Minister which should scare the hell out of anyone who isn't a nutter or insane.
Whenever i see or hear of crowds of fascists and racists getting together, my mind goes to a punk song from the late 80's which summed up perfectly what happens when the extreme right wing get their claws into the next generation.

Between the hours of twelve and two
The nagging doubts will come to you
Be paranoid parents coz they're after your kids
Who don't know what an Aryan master race is
They'll plant the seeds that will grow in time
And start the disease that will poison their minds
Fill them up with hatred and dress them up in robes
You know how the story goes
We've got one Mississippi
2 Mississippis 3 Mississippis
4 Mississippis 5 Mississippis 6 Mississippis burning
We've got 7 Mississippis 8 Mississippis
9 Mississippis 10 Mississippis
11 Mississippis 12 Mississippis burning burning burning
Burning down on this little mining town
Where people come from miles around
To see the funny snarling clowns

That's the concern, the seeds are being planted and are growing in, and poisoning the minds, of the next generation.
I am confident that the UK is not on a trajectory of becoming like America under Trump where the racists are not longer on the fringes but emboldened to spout their awfulness by the snarling clowns in charge but then i never thought it would happen over there and we are watching on with amazement that it did and the suffering, destruction and ruin that has followed being run by people who are evidently not qualified to run a country. Take note UK.

The Right Wing Venn Diagram

To anyone else, if you find an extreme political group actively agreeing with your idea's then you may want to take a step back and reconsider if you want to be associated with such awful people but no such qualms for Suella Braverman whose inane chuntering around the failure of multiculturalism and how being discriminated against for being gay or female is enough to gain you asylum in Britain have been thoroughly endorsed by the extreme right wing groups currently polluting the UK and using up air which could otherwise be used by less abhorrent people.
LBC's Iain Dale, a man who put himself right of center, had an interesting thought last night on his show that it is no coincidence that the last three Home Secretaries, Sajid Javid, Priti Patel and Suella Braverman (we can't count Grant Schapps as he was only there for 5 days) have been children of immigrants themselves and all have said awful things which would seem them charged with racism if a white person said them, but because they are castigating the very people they themselves once were, they can get away with it.
Priti Patel was arrogant enough to proudly admit that her parents, and therefore her, would not have made it into the country under the rules she herself introduced as Home Secretary and as Dale noted in a nod towards the saying about women, if you are not a white Brit then you have to be seen to be even more
anti-immigrant to be considered half as anti-immigrant and he could have a point.
In recent times, the Conservatives have moved so far to the right that they were sharing the same space in the Brexit debate's as Nigel Farage's UKIP who David Cameron himself described as fruitcakes, loonies and closet racists and now are espousing an immigration and multiculturalism policy which is endorsed by groups like the BNP and other extreme, violent right wings groups who will obviously take the tacit approval of the Government to cause violence and protests against immigrants and non-whites.
We may not yet be in the same circle as the fascists of the 1930's era but in the Venn diagram of right wing abominations we are certainly overlapping.

Sweden And Italy Will Learn The Hard Way

At some point the Swedish and Italian populations must have looked across at Great Britain and the United States and seen was an awful job the right-wing Conservative and Republican Parties did and you would assume would have swerved voting in a right wing Government but nope, they looked and must have thought we'll have some of that and stand to have shiny new Governments in place shortly.
As Italy have got a not so great history with a far-right Government you would have thought that not adopting the old slogan of Benito Mussolini's fascists: 'God, fatherland and family' would have been a no brainer but then there are not many right wing Government members will likely to trouble any Brains Trust meetings.
She has also spoken out against the LGBT lobby and called for a naval blockade to halt migration so that doesn't bodes well but Italy going right wing is less of a surprise than Sweden who are to be ruled over by the far-right anti-immigrant Sweden Democrats who have raged against climate change, the EU and have a strong anti-migrant stance.
Soaring energy and food prices caused by war in Ukraine are being put forward as the reason why the right wing are growing in Europe, in France Marine Le Pen made it to the final vote and Hungary, Poland and Spain have all got extreme right wing governments of different shades and people are pointing to the rot setting in following the 2008 recession and austerity measures which allowed the right wing to to harness the dissatisfaction of those who felt they were left behind.
Why that would lead people to move to the right is not something i can grasp, if anything you would think that voting for a Government that favours the rich and ignores the poor would be the worst option but the right have been very good at demonising others for their nations woes, mostly immigration and inparticular Muslim immigrants, who are depicted as being incapable of integration and anti-Christian and responsible for freeloading off the welfare state, rising crime rates and terrorism.
If they had been paying attention to the UK and US, they would have seen that it didn't end well in America and the UK Government is not even pretending to care about the poorest in society now so not sure why they think it will be different in Sweden or Italy but we can only hope that it is not too disastrous for them before they come to their senses and vote in some proper politicians again.

Lesser Spotted Right Wing Comedians

There is a bit of a debate going on with the new guy at the BBC who is asking why there are not more right wing comedians on the BBC panel shows, simply its because the right wing are not funny, well not in the way he means anyway.
The whole thing the left wing has got is that the right wingers are so ridiculous and mock-worthy that it is simplicity itself to make fun of them and to mock their muddle headed views which is why you can't swing a sack of lentils without hitting a left wing comedian but right wing comedians are as rare as a coherent thought in Donald Trump's manically coiffered head.
Also, if there are any right wingers with the required amount of working brain-cells, they wouldn't want to be seen to be on the same side of the fence as the current crop of right wingers, especially the blonde clown who must dread Fathers Day in the UK and the orange faced racist lunatic currently doing such a bang up job in America, to be associated with either would be career suicide.
A lack of decent material is the same reason why there is a dearth of songs that highlight right wing ideals with lyrics about smaller Government, free markets and more wars against Muslim countries filled with oil or heaping praise upon right wing luminaries such as Margaret Thatcher, George W Bush or even that right wing god-father Hitler.
So good luck trying to find any humorous right wingers who can join panel shows and be funny because there are no right-wing comedians with decent material for the same reason that there are no decent Phil Collins songs, they just don't exist.

To The Left, ALL Lives Matter

I'm not certain how the Black Lives Matter became a left v right thing although as i have noted here ad nauseum, not all racists are right wing but all the racists are on the right wing and as one of the chants from the self-identified right wing protest yesterday was 'We Are Racist', seems like many of them turned up to spend Saturday afternoon lobbing bottles at police and urinating up memorials.
I had a discussion of sorts with a small group of protester yesterday and tried to argue that as they were protesting against anti-racism protests, that puts them on the same side as the likes of Edward Colston, the slave trader whose statue was pulled down last week but they didn't see it that way, they seemed to think they were somehow protecting England, an England where people who forcibly snatched black people from their homeland and shipped them halfway around the World are celebrated obviously.
That's the problem with being terminally stupid, you may think you're not but you're actually too ignorant too realise and consider yourself smart but in reality, you're just window-shakingly stupid.
I will never understand the right wing mind or the people who hold right wing views, why would you? The left is all about sharing and equality for all and making things fairer for everyone but the right wing seems to be about keeping things unequal and to hell with everyone else as long as you and yours are okay, the mindset most often seen in children before their minds mature.
I have no problem with statues of the less savoury members of British history being removed, statues are built to commemorate and celebrate people and some of the people standing in city centres should certainly not be celebrated but if you are actively protesting against the anti-racism movement, anti anti-racism, that makes you at worst a racist or at best ignorant and very much part of the problem but it doesn't mean you have to become a left winger, just stop being a dick would help enormously because to the left, ALL lives matter, even yours.

Right Wing Ideology Fails Yet Again

Hmmm....that decision by the Conservative Party to run down the NHS resulting in closing 44 hospitals and treatment centers with a loss of 15,000 beds and 160,000 nurses is not looking quite a hot idea now, especially as they are now issuing a 'Save The NHS' plea for most of those former Nurses to now come back.
Nor i suspect the decision to cut the Police by 20,000 officers as a similar plea goes out today for former PC's to return to service to manage the demands on them over the coming weeks.
Anyone calling the COVID-19, HMRC and Universal Credits helplines are facing hours and hours of wait to speak to someone as they are being manned by a Civil Service which was drastically cut by 100,000 staff.
The cuts were always a right wing ideological decision and as we learn time after time after time, right wing ideological decisions are great for the few but disastrous for the many.
Of course once this is all over it will be thanks and goodbye to all the volunteers and the Conservative cuts will continue with even more gusto as the economy is going to be wrecked by then so if nothing else comes out of this disaster, let the right wing ideology of a smaller public service forever leave our thinking because when we have truly needed it, it is a shadow of what it was before the right wing brain-dead zealots got their hands on it.

Social Media Banning Right Wingers

While it can be said that not all right wingers are racist, xenophobic, sexist, greedy, homophobic fascists, all the  racist, xenophobic, sexist, greedy, homophobic fascists are on the right wing which is why many social media platforms are now banning far-right organisations and individuals.
The ban, which came into effect at midday on Thursday, is aimed at groups and individuals who posts content that: 'Spread hate, or attack or call for the exclusion of others on the basis of who they are who proclaim a violent or hateful mission or are engaged in acts of hate or violence'.
As that would seem to be the the majority of right-wing blogs then we can expect to see a massive hole left in the internet which will leave more room for left wing blogs to flourish and put forward their ideology of equality, socialism and general looking after each other and the planet.
The move is long overdue but shamefully it took mass murders by right wing zealots before the digital world caught up with what we knew all along, extreme right wing views are toxic and lead to violence.
Concerns were raised in 2016 about the scale of the far right’s activities on social media but Facebook handed out a bland excuse that their platform was 'used by parties and supporters of many political persuasions to campaign for issues they feel passionately about' which is their way of saying they didn't plan to do anything about it.
Unfortunately it took a host of right wing murders and one deluded right wing nut to kill 50 people in New Zealand before it took it seriously but better late than never and a few right wing bloggers hopefully can now expect to find that they can't sign in to their accounts anymore.

Tackling Right Wing Hatred

While not all right wingers are racist, all the racists are on the right wing and today we saw the culmination of the steady drumbeat of right wing hatred in New Zealand with 49 dead Muslims, mowed down by a right wing fanatic whilst praying.
Right wing terrorism has been building for the past decade, through the gruesome events of Anders Behring Breivik who killed 77 people in Norway, the killing of 11 Jewish worshippers in Pittsburgh, the murder of the British MP Jo Cox, attacks on mosques and synagogues in London and Quebec and many more violent incidents motivated by people of a racist and far-right bent.
In the US, right wing activity was linked to at least 50 deaths in 2018, almost three quarters of all extremist-related fatalities but all around the World attackers motivated by right-wing political ideologies are on the increase.
In the UK we have had two years of negative attacks on non-whites, from Windrush to Theresa May's hostile environment for non-Brits and UKIP's and Conservative Party anti-immigration rhetoric.
Following the death of an anti-fascist protester in Charlottesville, Donald Trump refused to administer blame to the extremists, his base, declaring them 'good people' and within hours of the New Zealand massacre, Australian Senator, Fraser Anning, released a media statement criticising left-wing politicians for the bloodshed and claiming: 'The real cause of bloodshed on New Zealand streets today is the immigration program which allowed Muslim fanatics to migrate to New Zealand in the first place'.
Brenton Tarrant's Twitter account posted links to a manifesto reeking of white supremacist conspiracy theories but the repugnant views of the far right which once festered in only the darkest nooks and crannies, has crept out into the daylight assisted by politicians who have created the swamp for such reptiles.
Emboldened, white supremacists believe that they have like minded fellows in places of power and have taken a cue from overt race-baiting from the likes of Trump, Farage, Boris Johnson and Tommy Robinson who whip up Islamophobia and anti-Semitism, a road which leads to irrational people like Tarrant and Breivik picking up weapons and pathetic scenes of more dead bodies, killed by right wing extremists who are ignorant or just too plain dumb to understand the dangerous propaganda that they are being brainwashed with.
Social media has to crack down on allowing the safe spaces for the right wing extremists to spew their bile and extreme right wing commenter's should be treated the same as the Islamic fundamentalists as both are indoctrinating soft minds with their toxic, and murderous poison.

Right Wing Agenda Not Working

In their right wing zeal for a smaller Government, the Conservatives took a massive axe to the public service which resulted in passports taking 6 months to process, Tax Returns not being captured in time, a shortage of beds in the NHS and 27,000 less police officers.
It is the latter that has resulted in an explosion of crime in the UK which the police describe as putting them 'under significant stress'  so it shouldn't be hard to work out, if there are less of the people employed to stop crime, then crime will rise.
The Conservatives have been awful, the austerity cuts devastating the country so this is the direct result of Government policy and while the blame goes to the morons arming themselves with knives and sticking them in each other, the choices the Government have made has enabled the environment for it to happen in.
It was Theresa May as Home Secretary who run down the Police Force and the day after two teenagers were stabbed to death, she defended her policy by saying that there was 'no direct correlation' between fewer police and higher crime despite police calling for more help and resources to deal with the problem.
It would be laughable if it was not so serious but the Conservatives are not listening, they saw the economic crisis as a way to drive through their ideological plans and they won't let something like teenagers being stabbed to death to throw them off their failed right-wing agenda.

Not Learning From Right Wing History

If history has taught us anything it is that as Winston Churchill said in a rare moment of sobriety that 'Those who fail to learn from history are condemned to repeat it'.
This quote is particularly true as we remember just why the Conservative Party are called the Nasty Party, because it appears that we are only now just saying, 'oh yeah, i forgot about that bit'.
Rather than looking back at the Right wing political parties of history and keeping them far away from power, we voted them in and now watch horrified as they dismantle everything with ideological zeal as the UN’s rapporteur said that the Conservatives have inflicted 'great misery on its people with punitive, mean-spirited, and often callous austerity policies driven by a political desire to undertake social re-engineering rather than economic necessity'.
Philip Alston, the UN’s rapporteur on extreme poverty and human rights, ended a two-week fact-finding mission to the UK with a stinging declaration that levels of child poverty were 'a disgrace' and 'a social calamity and an economic disaster', with approximately 14 million people living in poverty and 1.5 million unable to afford basic essentials which he described as 'patently unjust' adding that compassion had been abandoned during almost a decade of austerity which was a 'political choice'.
His report pointed at the decade of austerity cuts to state benefits and public services which have had a disproportionate effect on the poor, the disabled and women as well as the soaring use of food banks, increasingly homelessness and cuts to school budgets and the dismissive attitude of the Conservative Party.
While it should shame May's heartless government that the UN sent Mr Alston here to investigate them at all but after a decade of callous cuts and economic idealistic right wing vandalism where the government refuses to even question why food banks have become a feature across most of the country and more and more are being pushed into poverty and homelessness thanks to their political decisions, this will be shrugged off and things will continue on until they get removed from power.
The right wing should be kept out of power, nothing good ever comes from right wing policies but it seems we are very good at failing to learn this lesson.

Unaffected By Katie Hopkins Plight

You wouldn't want to see anybody get sacked and go bankrupt apart from possibly Katie Hopkins but by a massive stroke of luck that's exactly who has filed for an insolvency agreement.
That comment about 'poor people in debt had no-one to blame but themselves' is sure to get another airing as she joins the poor people after being found guilty of libelling food writer Jack Monroe on Twitter and being ordered to pay substantial damages.
In her time, the big mouth, right wing mouth-piece has been sacked by radio station LBC after channelling her inner Nazi to proclaim that the UK must find a 'final solution' to terrorism and dropped by the Daily Mail for claiming that parts of Britain were in the grip of a 'Muslim mafia' and that there was 'institutionalised discrimination against whites'.
The Sun Newspaper of all places rejected her views that migrants were 'cockroaches' and the sight of dead refugees floating in water left her unaffected.
Given the Hopkins’s track record for making offensive statements, there is unsurprisingly little sympathy for her current financial predicament but one less right-wing view is always gratefully received.

Nice Face, Shame About The Ideology

It has been often said that not only are people with right wing tendencies a bit thick, gullible and uninformed but they were also ugly.
Science and by just speaking to one for five seconds has confirmed the first three but shamefully the fourth is untrue as Susquehanna University and Illinois State University have found that attractive people are more likely to support right-wing parties apparently.
The researchers claim that 'an individuals physical attractiveness may alter their political values and worldviews and influence the way people judge others'.
The conclusion is that better looking people have an easier life so don't see the need for more welfare, aid and government support, unlike their left-wing counterparts.
Can't argue with science so just a bit thick, gullible and uninformed it is then.

UKIP Proving The Proverb Right Again

Not all right wingers are racist but all the racists are on the right wing and once again the proverb has been proven true by the lovable UKIP Party with their leader's girlfriend, Jo Marney, who sent a series of texts in which she said Meghan Markle marrying Prince Harry would mean: 'the Prince's black American fiancee will taint the Royal family with her seed' would 'pave the way for a black king', said that 'she had a tiny brain' and gave the opinion that 'black people were ugly' and she
did not 'want other races invading her culture'.
The newly elected UKIP leader, Henry Bolton, has come out to say that: 'UKIP does not, has not and never will condone racism' and his girlfriend Ms Marney has apologised and said her messages had been taken out of context.
Not sure what context it could possibly had been taken out of but Mr Bolton has a tough decision to make, either he kicks his horribly racist new girlfriend into touch and remains leader of the bunch of the nasty little Englander's he currently heads or he steps down and stands by the women he only recently left his wife for.
Should be a no brainer but as Ms Marney has proven, brains isn't the most abundant commodity on the right wing.

CoE Kicks Out At Right Wingers

Being a saviour isn't very well paid so if Jesus was alive today i would expect he would have to put his carpentry skills to use and knock out a few bedside cabinets between miracles but almost certainly he would be a leftie.
For some reason it is the political right who have adopted the beardy one and his dad for their side which is a bit puzzling because what i know about the two of them is that they wouldn't touch the right with a 10ft pole, a view echoed today by a senior Church of England Bishop who said that a right wing view doesn't relate to Christian beliefs.
After the Catholic Pope stuck the boot into Donald Trump as not being very Christian, the Church of England Bishop of Liverpool, Paul Bayes, has stuck it to Trump supporters for standing quietly by their man while he contradicts God’s teaching to protect the poor and the weak.
Without doubt Jesus would be part of the crowd jeering against the likes of Donald Trump and the rabid hate spreading religious right but ironically, the ones who are most opposite the things Jesus stood for are the ones trying to suck up to him and the ones who Jesus and his dad would try their hardest to keep the other side of the Pearly Gates.
Not sure how the Christians feel about being told by the Catholics and the Church of England that they are not very Christian but from where i am sitting, the fact that they announce that they believe in a make believe man in the clouds doesn't point to them being the sharpest knives in the drawer in the first place.

Not Fearing The Fascists

While it may be true that not all right wingers are fascists, all the fascists are on the right wing and it is a small hop, skip and goose-step to go from fascist to NAZI and that's Godwin's Law tripped in the first sentence so well done me!
Emboldened by a far right US President who is not only backed by racists but seemingly determined to defend them hence the way it takes him 0.05 seconds to start a twitter feud with any Hollywood actor who points out what an arse he is but two days to not condemn actual Nazis marching on U.S. soil and driving their cars into crowds.
He's probably not actively sieg heiling his way about the Oval Office but you could be mistaken that with the rise of the far-right fascists, it’s only too easy to imagine that we’re witnessing a repeat of the 1930s, having completely failed to learn from history which shows what colossal dicks that side of the politically right proved to be.
It is fair to lump all the far-right under the same swastika but there are consequences to goose-stepping to the tune of the bad guys of WWII, members of the BNP have found themselves sacked after being exposed as being a card-carrying fascist and a chorus of global condemnation follows anytime the supporters of a certain Austrian art school dropout bravely show their covered faces
in public.
The 1930 NAZI's had the advantage of nobody knew just what a bunch of murderous tossers they were but nobody has that excuse today and you should question why, knowing what we know today, why anyone with at least one working brain-cell would want to be associated with them but despite the recent rise in the profile of fascism, i wouldn't fear a revival because Hitler wrote a book that started his ball rolling and looking at the today's right wingers wanting to smash people into equality demanding mush you wouldn't trust them to hold it the right way round let along write one.

Is Your Child Right Wing?

Do you think your teenager might be a right winger? Here are some warning signs: They struggle to read even the most basic literature, have no concern for their fellow man, they don't like to share and appear to be intellectually backwards.
If they refuse to recycle, question climate change or believe in the fairness of our Capitalist system then you should find a teacher or trained medical person immediately because i'm sorry to say, but you have a right winger on your hands.
Of course sometimes it isn't that easy, one of the traits of the right winger is that they are too unintelligent to even understand that their views are abhorrent so what can a parent do to stop the rot before it firms up and ends in the nightmare scenario of your child applying for a Conservative Party membership?
Unfortunately you won't be able to tell by looking at your child's record collection because all ideologies love pop music and at first glance, music isn’t very right wing.
Even with a second, third and fourth glance it still isn't so where are the musicians and songs that highlight right wing ideals, a carrion call to music lovers for smaller Government, free markets and more wars against Muslim countries filled with oil?
Why no tunes putting the case for right wing luminaries such as Margaret Thatcher, Donald Trump or Hitler, i have yet to hear anyone sing a positive lyric about Adolf and NAZI's are very much in vogue with the right wing over in the States.
You can't swing a cat without hitting songs espousing left-wing ideals that oppose various current political regimes, reject war or call for equality to assorted oppressed groups but even with the thickest of rose-coloured glasses the right wing tune-smiths can't extract an acceptable amount of lyrics from their ideology to put together three minutes worth of song.
Our Pop music choices therefore are not an indicator of who is a right winger so it's back to looking for the dull, glazed over eyes and social awkwardness to distinguish them then.

General Lee And The Nazi's

Being away on my holidays, i haven't been following the Charlottesville protests and its aftermath very closely but from what i have seen, a bunch of extreme right wingers were protesting over the removal of a statue of an old pro-slavery General and another group of anti-racists and anti-fascists, who have been labelled as left wing for some reason, clashed and one deranged right winger drove his car into the protesters and killed a female.
Trump, a man so stupid you wouldn't trust him to face the right way on the toilet, sent out a tweet refusing to condemn the right wingers and even equated the anti-fascist protesters with the likes of the KKK and the Nazi flag wavers.
In the resulting furor over his refusal to condemn the people dishing out Nazi salutes, he did the old trick of throwing a dead cat onto the table in the shape of a sacked Steve Bannon to change the conversation away from his support for his base of right wing racists.
Trump, a fan of Adolf Hitler according to his ex-wife who revealed he was an avid reader of the Nazi leader and kept a book of his speeches next to their bed, has been widely condemned by most people who made the point that if you find yourself on the side of fascist Nazi's, you are probably on the wrong side.
To me, General Lee was the name of the car in The Dukes of Hazard but he was also a General in the American Civil War who fought to maintain slavery so you may ask who would want a statue of a nasty old racist in their city anyway but that is an ongoing discussion over statues of hideous men who in the cold light of the 21st Century are seen in a very different light from previous generations.
The problem with having statues, especially of military personnel, is that the person involved is celebrated for the slaughter, or in the case of Lee the violent subjugation, of other people.
If we are going to celebrate anyone with a likeness in our towns and cities, it should be people who are genuine heroes who have helped mankind, not conquered, enslaved or killed as many as possible of them.
A good guide is if the people who want to keep the statue are chanting Nazi slogans, draping themselves in Swastika's and are driving their cars into groups of people, then the statue is probably not of someone who should be celebrated.

Disappointing The Right Wing As Terrorist Was A Brit

The terrorist responsible for the attack in Westminster yesterday has been named as 52 year old Khalid Masood, born and raised in Britain but that hasn't stopped the right wing trying to shoehorn the attack into their own agenda.
Marine Le Pen said the attack underlined the importance of countries being able to protect their borders, Poland’s prime minister, Beata SzydÅ‚o, said it vindicated Warsaw’s refusal to take in refugees, UKIP donor Arron Banks blamed Theresa May for allowing over a million illegals into Britain, Nigel Farage appeared on US television arguing that the London attacks proved Donald Trump’s hardline immigration and anti-Muslim policies were correct.
In the world of Trump and Brexit, Muslim stirring hate was spewed within minutes of the attack and the usual suspects were spewing their predictable bile.
The right wing haters have been waiting for something like this, revelling that the opportunity had arrived for their imaginary fears to become solid.
Disappointingly for them, the bad guy turned out to be a home grown Brit with a history of violence and not an immigrant turned by religious fervour but they won't let that stop them, this is their chance to drive home the falsehood that immigration and multiculturalism is to blame and the facts can go hang.

Another Far Right Moron Up For Election In Netherlands

Before the French get to chose who will replace their current Government, the Dutch have a go in March and as the fashion these days seems to be having a dangerous right-wing idiot included on the ballot paper, allow me to introduce Geert Wilders who launched his election campaign by calling Moroccans 'scum'.
Mr Wilders, whose manifesto includes banning the Koran, stopping Muslim immigration and shutting mosques, currently tops opinion polls ahead of the 15 March parliamentary vote, but has seen his lead reduced in recent weeks.
The Moroccan rant comes months after he was convicted of hate speech over his promise to reduce the number of Moroccans in the Netherlands.
Seemingly basing his views (and silly hair) on the dangerous right wing idiot across the other side of the Atlantic, Wilders is promising to voters he will 'regain their country and make the Netherlands for the people of the Netherlands again' as there are 'a lot of Moroccan scum in Holland who make the streets unsafe'.
Championing of US President Donald Trump's policies appears to be backfiring though as Trump's agenda is pulling America apart and the Dutch are afraid that electing someone like Geert Wilders will result in the same in their small European nation and are backing away from voting for him as is shown by his tumbling poll lead.
Such is the poison of Wilder that the UK Government tried to ban him from visiting in 2009 but by the end of 2017 we could have far right wing leaders in the Netherlands, America and France and that is a scary thought and even more so if you are a Muslim who have become the Jews of the 21st Century and we know how that ended the last time the far right-wing had so much control.

Is The World Lurching Right?

A question that i have been asked more and more recently is if the World is taking a lurch towards the ideological right?
Britain certainly has a right wing party controlling things and from the irratic musings of Donald Trump the USA has also taken a turn that way as has India, Japan and Poland. France is seeing a wave in favour of right-wing parties with Marine Le Pen being considered a serious challenger to socialist president Francois Hollande in the 2017 presidential election.
Formerly Socialist paradises of Scandinavia are leaning right-wards with right of centre parties in Sweden and Denmark doing well in opinion polls and the Netherlands, Venezuela and Hungary too are witnessing an ideological turn to the right.
Some of the reasons for the rightwards political shift in countries are a combination of economics and security due to austerity measures, the rise of ISIS and the refugee influx which has made Europe more nationalistic and insular.
A decade of austerity measures across the globe has made many people more 'selfish' and less keen to spread the wealth to those less fortunate who receive benefits, a landscape favourable to right wing policies.
Eastern Europe has closed its borders to refugees, citing fears over Islamist violence carried over from Syria, Iraq and Libya while Donald Trump wants to build a wall, ban Muslims amnd keep a register or database of Muslims in the USA.
My reply is that right wing policies do seem to be holding the upper hand due to the economic crash in 2008 creating a landscape that allows right wing ideology to flourish, that of the fear of others in terms of terrorism and the undeserving receiving 'something for nothing' such as benefits and tax relief.
The right wing politicians keep their foot on the throttle, ramming home the same message that they are either coming to blow us up in our beds or clean out the national bank account by taking benefits and the electorate take it on board and vote for the side that promise to keep us and our money safe.
The left, ideologically less likely to inflict the harsh decisions on the population have no answer, hence a swing to the right.
In short, yes, the World has taken a swing to the right because due to the Great Recession of 2008, the landscape is fertile ground for right-wing parties who continue to keep the landscape exactly where they need it to be by generating fear (economy, terrorist, scroungers) among the electorate.
As with right wing parties, the ground usually shifts back when they try to drag the electorate too far to the right and impose a policy which exposes the right for what they really are, nasty.
