Burning Down The House

Interesting characters at the Trump inspired riots at the Capitol building, obviously all right wing deplorables but some went the whole hog and dressed up as Nazi's but i also saw some Vikings and a few dressed in the King Richard Crusader garb circa 1180.
The Vikings were all about the destruction so that makes sense and the Crusades main aim was to beat up on the foreigners who believed something different to them so that ticks the brainless right wing mindset also.
Something that has been given a good airing on the news channels is the reminder that the Brits set fire to the Capitol building and several other places back in 1814 as part of the 1812 war, to be fair we did have to travel there and airplanes hadn't been invented so explains why we were two years late.
It was the Presidential Mansion then, the White paint was applied afterwards to hide the scorch marks per a myth but the Brits burnt the place to the ground and all that was left was a couple of exterior wars which then had to be pulled down anyway so there were no scorch marks.
The Brits did plan to burn down all of Washington, President James Madison had run off screaming like a big girls blouse when the Brits turned up with the matches but they were foiled by a heavy thunderstorm which kept putting out the fires so they gave up the plan and content with what they had done, returned back to Blightly for tea and crumpets.
I'm sure the Nazi's would have done much worse to Washington if the Blitzkrieg had made it across the Atlantic and the Vikings did make it that far and considered it not worth bothering with but rather than the Crusader uniform, they probably should have gone with the British red coat uniform of the early 19th Century which would have been much more historically accurate but then i guess, the useful idiots following Trump are more likely to open a colouring book rather than a history book.
