I was reminded of the Gun Clubs annual Photo Shoot today and wondered if 1) They had restarted doing them and 2) If i was still banned after all these years and the answer to 2 meant that i never did find out about 1 so I have no idea if gun toting parents believe that the greatest gift they can give their child this year is to indoctrinate him or her into the world of automatic weaponry before they are able to walk

the problem with uk law is that it often, and critically, references "reasonableness".
this is a problem in a nation where a jury could be dominated by leftists (who apparently think that self-defense is unreasonable), because such a jury might well think you should be nice to an attacker in hopes that being nice will change the attacker's behavior.
in other words, leftists in the uk enable criminals to conduct criminal behavior by expecting non-criminals to capitulate and even empathize with the criminals.
this is as dangerous to your personal safety as being ruled by a king.

i was introduced to guns when i entered first grade - at age 5. my grandfather and dad taught me how to shoot a .22 pistol with .22 shorts and rat shot.

> the odds of being shot in America are 7 in 100,000 (the uk which HAS NO GUNS allegedly is 3 in 100,000 - near meaningless difference 4/100,000 = 0.000004)
> the majority of gun violence in America is drug gang members shooting rival drug gang members
> most shootings in America are concentrated in 12 or 15 areas of the nation - which is much larger geographically and population wise than the uk (most shootings are in inner cities where the drug gangs are concentrated. places like chicago, baltimore, st louis)
> most shootings are blacks in drug gangs shooting other blacks in rival drug gangs

in other words, the problem in America is illicit drugs. which by the way are illegal... seems that law and law enforcement isn't enough to stop drug trafficking... the vast majority of US gun violence is directly related to drug trafficking...
