Football Comes Home Finally

We have been singing about Football coming home since 1996 but last night it finally did with the England ladies beating the German Ladies in the European Cup Final at Wembley.
Hopefully the success will be a stepping stone to bigger and better things for ladies Football but special credit must go to MK Dons, Rotherham, Bournemouth, Brighton, Sheffield United, Brentford and Manchester United who were the handful of clubs who agreed to host the games when every major club was contacted to host the women's Euros in 2018.
Former England player Alex Scott was said: 'In terms of the venues, we did a tender process throughout every major ground and city in the country and there were very few that came forward in wanting to host the women's Euros. We were begging Premier League Clubs to host games for this. So many people said no, I hope you are all looking at yourselves right now because you weren't brave enough to see at what it could have been'.
I did make it to a few of the games and it was nice to not have to hear or see the idiot brigade in the stadiums which the men's game can and does attract and i hope as the women's game in the UK gets bigger and richer, it keeps those qualities.
