It's Oh So Quiet (In The Transfer Market)

It’s quiet. The transfer window has been open since the start of January and generally teams looking at relegation are panic buying to try and scrape out of the relegation zone and teams with more loftier ambitions are trying to buy the players which will keep them in the European places but most Premier League clubs appear not to have noticed.
Journalists are kicking their heels outside the nations Football stadiums shrugging that they have nothing to report and fans are refreshing their Sports apps to see if their club has signed anyone but stillness has descended upon the richest league in the world and it is all due to Financial Fair Play regulations.
After Everton's 10 point deduction and Nottingham Forest's pending points deduction clubs are nervous around spending and most will need to sell to balance the books before they can spend and usually one big signing sparks off a merry go-round but nobody is selling and the only game in town was if one of the
Saudi Pro League clubs came in with a silly money offer for a fading Premier League star but even they are keeping their wallets firmly in their kaftans.
To be fair it did need something to happen to cool the transfer market as it was not only getting obscene with the amount of money changing hands but it was only a handful of clubs who could afford the £80m+ for the really big names and some clubs such as Manchester City, Newcastle and Chelsea had almost limitless amounts available and could attract the really big names and offer ridiculous wages so maybe it isnt a bad thing although their will be quite a bit of tumbleweed blowing through all those usual last night transfer shows tonight.
