The cry is that the Queen is dead, long live the King but the question is where will the King live because while his subjects may be concerned with keeping a roof over their head, he has a choice of roofs from the multiple residences he has at his disposal.
He could opt for one of the Palaces such as the 775 room Buckingham Palace or if he fancies a bit of friend mars bar there is The Palace of Holyroodhouse in Scotland but it only has 289 rooms so he could find it a bit cramped with all his servants and footmen although St James's Palace is even smaller but it does come with its own riding school.
There are the Castles, Windsor Castle was his mum's weekend home although Balmoral is the official residence in Scotland but Hillsborough Castle is just a short hop across the Irish Sea in Northern Ireland although the Castle of Mey is much more homely with only 10 bedrooms.
Maybe living in Palaces and Castles is not going to be a thing for a modern King so he may plump for one of the mansions at Highgrove House, Clarence House, Sandringham House, Dumfries House, Palladian country house or Tamarisk House.
One thing is for certain is that being King does come with some tough decisions which us common folk do not have to worry over, such as whether to live in one of the 3 Palaces, 4 Castles or 6 Mansions, nobody said being a King was easy.
