The Types Of Personality

Personality is defined as the combination of characteristics or qualities that form an individual's distinctive character which is why some people are quiet while others are loud and some appear to walk to the beat of their own drum even if it would appear to the rest of us that this particular drummer must have learnt their drumming skills on a trumpet.
While psychiatrist Carl Jung is very much seen in the shadow of the more famous Sigmund Freud, it is his theory that modern Psychiatrists use to determine our personalty types called the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator of which is based on where you focus your attention (Extraversion (E) or Introversion (I)) how you take in information (Sensing (S) or INtuition (N)), How you make decisions (Thinking (T) or Feeling (F)) and how you deal with the world (Judging (J) or Perceiving (P))

They then take the 4 indicators and apply them against each person to arrive at the personality type of ISTJ, ISTP, ISFJ, ISFP, INTJ, INTP, INFJ, INFP, ESTJ, ESTP, ESFJ, ESFP, ENTJ, ENTP, ENFJ, and ENFP.

INTJ's are loners, analytical, logical, imaginative and strategic thinkers, with a plan for everything.  Famous INTJ's are Bill Gates, Andy Warhol, Jane Austin, Stephen Hawkings, Isaac Newton, Russel Crowe.
INTP's are creative, understanding, felxible, innovative and deep thinkers. Famous INTP's are Abraham Lincoln, Albert Einstein, Elon Musk, Rene Descartes, Charles Darwin, Marie Curie.

ENTJ's are bold, imaginative and strong-willed, rational and logical who enjoy being in charge and set high expectations for themselves and others. Famous ENTJ's are Margaret Thatcher, Pablo Picasso, Steve Jobs, George Clooney, Jim Carrey, Napoleon Bonaparte.
ENTP's are smart, curious, logical, rational, easily bored, spontaneous. Famous ENTP's are

INFJ's are empathetic, compassionate, reserved, cooperative and spend time examining their own thoughts and feelings. Famous INFJ's are Amy Winehouse, Kate Winslet, Morgan Freeman, Al Pacino, Martin Luther King, Lady Gaga, Nelson Mandela, Adolf Hitler.

ESFJ's are extroverted and caring, sociable who like structure and stability and are easily liked and people easily warm to them. Famous ESFJ's are Joe Biden, Dolly Parton, Hugh Jackman, Ariane Grande, Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey.

ISTP's are bold, practical, mysterious, rational, logical, spontaneous, technical and unpredictable. Famous ISTP's are Scarlett Johansson, Tom Cruise, Eminem, Bruce Lee, Amelia Earhart, Venus Williams, James Dean.

Obviously, officially any psychiatrist will tell you that there is no best type and each type has their own strengths and weaknesses so let's change the question and ask the psychiatrist what personalty type they would favour if they were looking for a partner, then we get the unofficial answer that they would look for an ISFP, INFP or INFJ personality and avoid the ESFJ, ESTP, ESTJ and ENTP types.

You can find out which esteemed famous people your personalty matches with the Personalty Test here.

I am far too modest to let on which personalty type the test advised i am (It's Not For Publishing) but i am very happy to be associated personalty wise with such famous authors and a couple of certain male singers.

what you report is a misuse of Myers-Briggs. MB reveals how a person approaches dealing with change, which is just one part of personality, albeit a major portion.
E/I - approach to identifying potential actions
N/S - approach to understanding potential actions
T/F - approach to prioritizing potential actions
P/J - approach to implementing change

A better tool for total personality - and the tool preferred by psychologists and psychiatrists is the "Big 5" also referred to as OCEAN.
O - openness (desire for change, often higher among people that lean left)
C - conscientiousness (desire for reliability, often higher among people that lean right)
E - extroversion (interest in relationships)
A - agreeableness (interest in others, empathy)
N - neuroticism (ability to deal with "negative" experiences, typically higher in women)

I know, I know you are just reporting what some "expert" said...

oh yeah, for many years i was a "virtual team consultant" within the company that employed me, and i was an executive mentor. i was trained to administer MB in 1993, and administered it to several thousand people.

you don't mention DISC, that is another profiling tool that is misrepresented as revealing personality.
D - directness (action oriented, outcome oriented)
I - influencer (collaborative focus)
S - social (focus on feelings of others)
C - cautious (focus on data and methods)

What I reported is the information which came with our personality tests so if you got a beef with it you will have to take it up with the people who administer it.

i didn't think you wanted to learn anything. and most of the people that administer MB are mediocre at what they do.

'and (sic) most of the people that administer MB are mediocre at what they do.'

Didn't you just say 'i (sic) was trained to administer MB in 1993, and administered it to several thousand people'.

Yep, you said it.

Yeah, and most programmers are mediocre, but i was a lead. and most strategists are mediocre but i was the one that facilitated the c-suite and board. and most researchers are mediocre but i was the lead researcher for my company. and most inventors are mediocre but i have 57 patents and 49 being processed by the uspto.

and most administrators of MB are mediocre, but not me. i read the original research papers presented by myers and briggs and gained insights others are unaware of.

instead of being your typical self, why don't you consider what i shared and consider whether what i wrote makes sense. if it does, well there you go... you worry too much about the source and not enough about results. which is a trait of the left. they don't do well in the real world so the favor "degrees" and other similar credentials over results...

it is much easier to profile someone if you actually get to interact with them in person. all i have is the persona labeled LucyP. based on the posts of LucyP, here is how i profile you:
- E (extrovert. you get your ideas by looking around you. and, you claim to have taught at university, but you weren't a research type. researchers tend to be high I)
- N (intuitive. you have never been one for facts or letting facts get in the way of your leftist thinking. you see the possibilities in things. in fact, it might be hard to be a leftist without being an N. of course, what a leftist intuits is not based in reality...)
- F (thinkers have use ranking systems, procedures. you writings don't strike me that way. you let your "feelings" guide you, but mostly, you just lack systematic thinking)
- J (judgers do one thing until it is finished. it doesn't seem likely that you have 5 or 6 unrelated stories in the works at all times. i'd guess you pick a topic and write your little essay, with little regard for fact, just blind trust if the source is a leftist and has academic qualifications)

so, i guess your profile is ENFJ

using OCEAN (scale is 1 to 100 on each element)
O - 75 to 85
C - 70 to 80
E - 70 to 80
A - 60 to 70 (surely your not as much of an ass in person as you are blogging)
N - 30 to 40 (lots of things seem to strike you negatively)

DISC is situational. as a leftist blogger, i see you as:
D - low D, you are too busy trying to be funny or cute
I - high I, you try to nudge people to follow your thinking with cuteness and humor
S - low, leftists say they care about people but want the government to do it
C - very low, you do not understand data or math and these are the crux of C

I have a piece of paper saying I am reserved, poetic, kind, introverted, loners, emotional and imaginative like Shakespeare, Poe and Kurt Cobain so I’m going with that.

unless you tried to manipulate the responses, it is likely accurate. i was guessing based on your blog posts without seeing how you dress, interact with people verbally, your demeanor, etc.

the most surprising to me is that you are an I instead of an E. i'd guess you are a middling I, not an extreme I. or said in another way, you have a lot of E.

i've done the assessment on myself maybe 15 times over 30 years and i have always been an E by just one or two points. but i've always been a very high on the N, T, and P traits
