Implications Of Griefbots

Daniel Defoe’s book, 'The Political History Of The Devil' said that: 'Things as certain as death and taxes, can be more firmly believ’d' and although there is nothing we can do about Taxes there are some AI companies who are trying to do what they can about death by allowing people to interact with dead friends and relatives.
Not the actual dead person but an Ai driven algorithm which will simulate digital simulations and a conversation with the dead person based on uploaded videos and questionnaires completed by the still living about their lives, political views or various aspects of their personalities.
All sounds very creepy to me but some are embracing it as a way to cope with grief and using it as a way to remember dead loved ones and terminally ill people have been using the system to capture and synthesise their voice's to add even more reality to the experience.
Labelled 'deadbots' and 'griefbots', i can see how it could attract some people stricken with grief but it appears to me to be a modern version of the charlatan Spiritualists and psychics who receive money to 'communicate' with the dead because these 'griefbots' are businesses out to make money so they will be encouraging interaction and i envision notifications or updates from their dead loved ones and that can't be good psychologically for a grief-stricken person.
The bots would be used to advertise products, business remember and advertising revenue is important, and that moves us into all sorts of ethical questions so i'm very uneasy that these are becoming a thing because people will use them and who knows how grief mixed with strong emotions at such a difficult time will play out.

there you go imaging a problem before it happens, and blaming the problem on someone trying top make a profit.

i can imagine the government regulating what the AI grief bots can say to the living.

i can also imagine dumbasses blaming an AI grief bot for their criminal action, and the left supporting the criminal... i can see it now on falling on a bruise, lucyp (whoever or whatever that is): "oh, it wasn't their fault, they were under duress, its those greedy capitalist bastards we should blame, and they don't treat women and blacks and hispanics/latinos and homosexuals and idontknowwhatiamsexuals fairly either.

if one pays for an AI grief bot and they don't like what it says, just end the subscription...

did you consider that when someone provides a product or a service, the price paid by the customer is typically cheaper for the customer than if they provided it for themselves, and is often something they cannot do themselves and would have to do without if not for the provider...

one might complain about the cost of rent... the owner is making too much money. okay, go build your own place to live in. all you have to do is find a spot of land. get the materials. get the tools. gain the knowledge needed. learn the codes imposed by law for safe and environmentally proper construction. then take the time, and use the energy to build your home. plus, you need money for the land, materials, tools, and learning... without a bank (and their profit for taking the risk that you will fail to make payments) where are you going to get the money? Too much for you to handle?

let's take a simpler example. A sandwich. you can pay someone to make a sandwich for you and pay their profit. or you can buy some flour (and pay others to grow it, harvest it, process it, package it, and provide it for you at the local market) and yeast to make bread, grind some mustard seeds (same story as the flour), combine some oil (same story as the flour) and spices (same story as the flour), butcher an animal that you have been raising for at least several months (same story as the flour) then process the meat (same story as the flour), assemble the sandwich, repeat for the drink even it it is water and eat the sandwich...

what is cheaper, making your own sandwich or paying someone a nice profit to make one for you? can you raise an animal? can you raise wheat and make flour? can you process your own olive oil (not in the uk)? how do you cook the meat, open fire or in an oven (same story as the flour)?

when people or a huge corporation make a profit, it is still cheaper than doing it yourself... of course, you could move to and Islamic nation where such profits are illegal... but then it is also illegal for women to do lots of things...

or you could move to venezuela. lots of room. however, they say up to 30% of the population has left because they can't get food... maybe cuba. yeah. move to cuba. hardly any profit to be found in cuba...
