It is a bit strange that someone thought it a good idea to celebrate something that could destroy our planet but the absurdity of it didn't stop Prince William going to a service celebrating 50 years of the UK's nuclear deterrent.
Quite rightly he was heckled and booed by Members of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) as he arrived at Westminster Abbey alongside the Dean of Westminster who also probably shouldn't be singing the hallelujahs of something so inappropriate and which could wipe out humanity many times over.
Admitting that he had received a large amount of correspondence and emails asking him to cancel the service celebrating the ultimate weapon of mass destruction, he blathered that he decided to go ahead with it because 'It was not a celebration of nuclear power' but was for the 'debt of gratitude to those responsible for maintaining the peace'.
Considering that the Nuclear Weapon owners are the United States, Russia, United Kingdom, France, China, India, Pakistan, North Korea and Israel, i assume he meant maintaining the peace by not dropping 50 Megatons of explosive power on each other's head because none of those nine nations could be described in any way, shape or form as a maintainer of peace.
