Trump Is Not An American Idiot

 
I doubt if Green Day were on Donald Trumps Christmas card list anyway but they will definitely not be now that they have changed their lyrics of 'American Idiot' to fit Donald Trump although it was originally aimed at George W Bush but that's the good thing about idiots, one size really does fit all.
Not to be pedantic about it but although Trump (and Bush) are not the sharpest knives in the drawer and both are as dumb as a bag of spanners certainly, neither fit the medical classification of idiot which is: 'the mental development never exceeds that or a normal child of about two years'  
American Imbecile then maybe but again, the medical classification for that is: 'the mental development is higher than that of an idiot, but whose intelligence does not exceed that of a normal child of about seven years.'
The final classification of mental defectiveness is Moron which is: the mental development is above that of an imbecile, but does not exceed that of a normal child of about twelve years' which is more like it, Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said Trump had the understanding of 'a fifth- or sixth-grader' which is 10-11 and former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon said that Trump was 'like an 11-year-old child' so that is two people who knew him well placing him in the Moron category.
Former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson also called Trump a 'moron' as did the former national security adviser H.R. McMaster who said Trump had the intelligence of a 'kindergartner' but some of his former employees have gone for the middle category of Idiot, such as chief of staff John Kelly and both Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and former chief of staff Reince Priebus.
Amusingly, chief economic advisor Gary Cohn didn't mince his words and just went for Trump being: 'dumb as shit' but i don't know if there is a category for that so taking the above, Green Day calling Trump an American Idiot is acceptable but American Moron is probably a better fit medically.
