When you think of religious nutjobbery you consider the Taliban in Afghanistan or the Mullah's in Iran but America is quickly catching up in the religious nutjobs stakes and one Bible clutching weirdo Senator from has taken things into his own hands and put forward a bill titled: 'Contraception Begins at Erection Act' that would make it unlawful for a man to ejaculate unless it’s to reproduce.
After Donald Trump showed his ignorance by stating that all Americans are female by stating that sex starts at the moment of conception (the sex of the fetus is not determined until weeks after conception), the Mississippi state senator, Bradford Blackmon's Bill suggests making it: 'unlawful for a person to discharge genetic material without the intent to fertilize an embryo' with fines up to $10,000 fine for anyone breaking the rule.
Whether this is a wind up to point out the window shakingly awful contraception and abortion laws and not actually trying to outlaw ejaculation is not yet clear but i asked and the Bible is pretty clear on the matter, Leviticus 15:16-17 says that a man who has an emission of semen should wash and be ceremonially unclean until evening although Matthew 5:29–30, Matt. 18:6–9, and Mark 9:42–48 state that, if they cause one to sin, one should tear out one's eye and cut off one's hand or foot.
Now i am not a medical person but sinning in this manner by eye or foot would take a lot of imagination and probably a few weeks in traction afterwards but i imagine if they took this literally there would be a lot of one handed American politicians wearing eye patches and walking with a distinct limp.

this post is funny, for a change.
of course, with 330 million people there will always be someone that proposes something stupid.
you misquote the bible. it doesn't say to do such harm to oneself such as cutting off one's hand/eye, etc. it says one would be better off to do such - really trying to emphasize that life on earth is temporary while the soul is eternal. but you can't help being a journalist and twisting things to fit your purposes...
in this case to actually have a funny punch line
Want to check those Bible quotes before I get chance to copy and paste them here?
you (sic) misquote the bible (sic). it (sic) doesn't say to do such harm to oneself such as cutting off one's hand/eye, etc. it (sic) says one would be better off to do such -
Matthew 5:29–30
If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. 30 And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.
Matthew 18:6–9,
If your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire. 9 And if your eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell.
Mark 9:42–48
If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out. [44] [a] 45 And if your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than to have two feet and be thrown into hell. [46] [b] 47 And if your eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell.
Pretty conclusive, and you are the religio!!!!
i'm not religious no matter how many times you write it. i believe in god and think jesus was legit, but i don't follow a religion. belief in god and following the rules of an organization are two different things.
perhaps you lack the ability to distinguish between the belief and religion, blinded by an apparent anger or hatred by those that disagree with you??
regardless, the greater point which you elect to ignore, is that the eternal soul matters more than our short physical life on earth. which is troubling for someone that doesn't believe in a soul. so i get why you can't see the difference.
i (sic) believe in god and think jesus was legit,
Dictionary definition: Religious- believing strongly in the existence of a god or gods
Ergo…
in the US being religious means being baptist, methodist, catholic, etc. in other words, being a member of a church and following their system.
