This week saw International Woman's Day and there was a discussion around how the World would be a more peaceful place if more women were in charge.
A look at the World today and you can't help but notice that the list of current wars in Ukraine Gaza and Sudan are all are waged by men and the former Irish president Mary Robinson was on TV today saying that having more women in the roles of World Leader's was necessary for a more peaceful world.
As the owner of a pair of X Chromosome's you would expect me to agree but I ask which women do you mean and throw out some recent names from our own little island, Margaret Thatcher, Theresa May and Liz Truss and ask are they an example of a World you would want to live in?
The problem women have when they become leaders is that they feel they have to act and talk tough to avoid being labelled as stereotypically soft by men, it is widely reported that European Queens in the 15th to 20th centuries were more likely to go to war than the Kings.
Of course for every Thatcher or Truss there is a Jacinda Ardern, the former New Zealand Prime Minister who reacted to a terror attack in her country not with a willingness to hit someone hard and continue the circle of violence but reacted with sympathy and compassion for the victims.
The solution then seems to be not more women at the top, but just better people and less idiots running things regardless of their sex.
