How To Sell Wars To The Public

It isn't easy selling a war so the MOD have come up with the idea of using more mercenaries, unmanned vehicles and elite forces because we don't mind when they die, it's the death of the regular soldier that rile us apparently.
The Ministry of Defence have been mulling over how to sway public opinion when our Government decides to have a bit of war and also hit upon the idea of lessening the public profile of repatriation ceremonies for war dead and taking a 'they knew what they were getting themselves into when they signed up' approach.
I didn't see the recommendation that the UK and USA just leave other countries alone which would be the best option wouldn't it? We haven't been genuinely in any danger of being attacked by another country since the 1940's, yet we have been involved in 24 wars and conflicts since 1945.
Maybe a suggestion is to change the name to Ministry of Attack because that is a better description.
