I think we can now safely declare that this experiment that some countries have recently embarked on by allowing the village idiot to be promoted to the most powerful position in the country, has been a catastrophic failure and none more so than in Brazil with their President, Jair Bolsonaro.
He has denied the seriousness of Coronavirus saying 'This virus isn’t everything they say it is' and that the virus was just 'a little cold', has rejected the advice of health officials and told Brazilians to 'face it like fucking men, not kids. We’ll all die one day' and fought with governors imposing distancing and stay at home rules advocated by his own government and urged the country to 'get back to normal'.
Twitter, Facebook and Instagram have removed Coronavirus-related posts from his profile because they spread 'disinformation and did actual harm to people' and the governor of São Paulo, has told the public not to follow the president’s guidance who reacted by threatening the countries Health Minister if he didn't publicly contradict him.
Yesterday, during a debate, the president shrugged his shoulders when asked if he was concerned about the 365 deaths so far in Brazil and the many more expected by commenting that: 'Some will die. I’m sorry. That’s life'.
When it was seen that Boris Johnson was leading the fight in the UK we said he's awful but at least we haven't got Donald Trump but even Americans must be thanking their lucky stars when they look at Brazil and sigh with relief that at least they haven't got Bolsonaro.
